Tune In
Next Monday, May 28, I will be painting live for a televised event feature Roy Boomerang and Jon Paul Ivan playing in their new band RI1. This performance will be part of TVOne's Radio Show. They will play some of their new songs and I will paint onstage in response. This is the first time I'm trying something like this, and I'm looking forward to it! The show airs live at 10 PM.

Article in Gatra
This month I am showing a painting as part of a group show "Artspirasi Buruh Migran: Melintasi Batas," (Arspiration for Migrant Workers: Breaking Boundaries) which opened at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Jakarta last week on May second. The show was conceived of in honor of May Day to celebrate laborers around the world and bring attention to important issues they face.
The magazine Gatra picked up the show, and there is a nice article in the most recent issue entitled Kisah Buruh Melintasi Batas which touches on my work and the personal history behind it. Check it out at your local newsstand!

RRI Broadcast
Turns out there was a piece on RRI Yogya television about the exhibit. If like me you missed the broadcast, you can read the article version of their coverage here--and check out the cool photo of Mas Roy!

Photos from Imitation Journey Opening Night
After sharing some of the news coverage of my exhibition, I also wanted to share some photographs from the opening night event at Tujuh Bintang Art Space.
The band Big Boss 11, with my friend Barbara singing lead, started the night off with some classic covers and original songs.
Welcoming and opening speeches. Me:
Annie Tucker from UCLA, writer for the show:
Rusnoto, the curator for the show:
Entang Wiharso, artist who opened the show:
After I gave Entang a thank you gift, the exhibit was officially open and people got to see the work.
My friend and very special guest Roy Jeconiah provided musical entertainment during the rest of the exhibit.
Me up on stage, singing along to Hey Jacky:
All in all it was a great evening.... Time to start planning the next show!
